Program Description:

 
University of Ulson Courses: Offering of courses taught in English will not be released until the student’s arrival to Ulsan. Therefore, interested students must be flexible as to the courses they want to take while in South Korea. We recommend that all students take a Korean language beginners course in addition to three courses taught in English.


Language Notes: Language of instruction is English with exception of Korean language courses
 
Costs:
  • 12 credit hours of tuition paid to NW
  • NW administrative fee: $125
  • Approximately $1400 Housing and 3 meals 7 days a week Subject to change

  • Accommodations: Students will be placed in a residence hall with one other student with a private bathroom. Laundry facilities are provided on your floor. Meals are offered as a cafeteria meal plan.

LATU Scholarship Program:
  • LaTu is a scholarship program sponsored by the University of Ulsan. Participants are expected to teach English to UOU undergraduate students as a tutor program, while studying abroad at Ulsan.
  • Duties: Teaching English to UOU students (10 hours per week) and 1 hour a week outdoor activity with students.
  • Eligibility: A citizen whose official language is English. An undergraduate or graduate
  • Benefits Monthly allowance : 500,000 KRW (500 USD approximately) Subject to change
  • Orientation: Students must participate in a 1-week orientation before beginning their teaching duties. Participants will learn about teaching methodology and Korean culture during orientation.*Scholarship benefits are subject to change

 Additional Notes:
  • Since students will be staying longer than 90 days, they will be required to obtain a student visa prior to entering South Korea. Students will need to submit via mail an application for their visa to the South Korean Consulate General in Chicago.
